Exotic Hardwood Floors

Exotic hardwood floors are described as those types of woods not usually found in North America but are imported from all over the world.  These woods include Brazilian Cherry, Teak, Merbau, Tigerwood, Sapele and Padauk. These woods are rich in color and have distinctive grain lines. One of the major manufacturers for exotic hardwood flooring is BR-111 in Sao Paulo,  Brazil.

When choosing to use an exotic hardwood for your floor take into consideration the properties of the wood that you have chosen.  Like the traditional North American wood products these woods are available in many colors, grains and grades.  However some products are not suitable for homes that require in home heating and have low moisture content.  Check with the manufacturer for specific requirements.
