Buying discount hardwood flooring does not necessarily mean that you are getting cheap wood.  Many manufacturers offer sale prices on their products at various times of the year which allows you to pick up quality flooring at a great price.  Typical sales could be during the summer months when sales of flooring may be lower.  Many merchants deal only in discount flooring. Some shops bring in larger quantities of merchandise and then offer them for sale at cheaper prices making it more affordable for better quality. Others offer sale prices if you order from their online stores.

If you don't mind getting last year's stock, discount hardwood flooring could be a good purchase for you.  Shops will hold closeout merchandise sales. Manufacturers are always coming up with new and improved products to attract us.  The current stock is then discounted, to clear it out faster, with much benefit to us. One thing to keep in mind if you are buying your flooring at a sale price is that the dye lots on the flooring all match.  Sometimes sales are offered on smaller quantities just to clear out excess stock, you wouldn't want to get your wood home and find that the colors were different in each box.
